Version 6.1 was practically a rewrite of Version 6.0 to incorporate the new release of YaBB. YaBB went from version 1.2 to version 2.0. It was absolutely necessary to use version 2.0 because of the added functionality and security fixes.

The look of version 6.1 differs a lot in comparison with v6.0. The changes were greater that the version numbering would suggest. The data storage of the added features (ranks, deck layout, etc.) of the site was moved from text-based to mySQL.

I started to depend more on the community for the content on the site. Users could post news messages, create help texts and I even appointed more moderators. I even promoted someone to Captain to command the Starbase.

As time went by a lot of functionality has been changed from the release back in 2005. When I started developing version 7.0 of the site in early 2007, the users and I decided to give the RPG idea another shot. The first mission of the RPG started on April 26th, 2007 and lasted until June 9th. The second mission started soon thereafter. It looks like this time we are more successful.
