At the end of this month, all fans of the annual Pinkpop Music Festival will get excited. Then, Jan Smeets, chief of Pinkpop, will present this year's line-up to the press in Paradiso, Amsterdam. Until then we can only gossip. An update on the current rumors.
There are currently 3 bands officially announced by the Pinkpop organization and a fourth has announced themselves. Then there are the numerous rumors floating on message boards around the internet.
We are certain of Muse, Iggy Pop & The Stooges and Lostprophets. Snowpatrol told the audience in the Heineken Music Hall last week that they'll be in Landgraaf too.
Wolfmother, Smashing Pumpkins and Maria Mena (Who?) are said to attend too, but we can't be certain about that.
It is clear that Pearl Jam won't be around because they'll give a show a month later in Nijmegen together with Incubus and 3 more support acts. Also some counterparts of them are pregnant and will deliver in the exact weekend Pinkpop is held.
The Kaiser Chiefs said in a radio show last Friday that they will give a show in The Netherlands in May, but it is not sure if this will be on Pinkpop. Let's hope so.
