Pinkpop 2004 - 03

Sunday started awful for some. Loads of cell phones and wallets were reported stolen. A group of lowlife creatures had climbed over the fences to cut open tents and steal everything they could get their hands on. Luckily we weren't victimized and all our stuff was still accounted for. From that night on we had to sleep with out wallet under the armpits and bankcard in the underpants.

Pinkpop visitors have an unlimited amount of happiness and the atmosphere was still great. After a wash and breakfast we headed for the festivalterrain.

The day was opened by Seeed, a dub/reggae/hiphop/dancehall formation from Berlin. Dancing in the sun was the way to go with this uplifting music.

Next was Kaizers Orchestra in the 3FM tent. Great folk-inspired music, with a drum section on oil barrels. I'm always in for the more alternative music, my friends are not.

The punkband with brass-section Less Than Jake is known for their audience interaction. A whole crowd running circles around the sound tower is an amazing view.

Claudia the Brei (national radiostation 3FM DJ) assured us it wouldn't start to rain during the gig of The Rasmus. She was right, but after the concert the rain started to pour from the heavens for the rest of the day. The damage: wet socks.

To get some shelter from the rain I decided to watch the Audio Bullys. Not really my kind of music so I didn't stay to see Dave Clark en T. Raumschmiere.

I did see the first half hour of DJ Tiësto before I decided to go see After Forever together with Anky and Bart.

The day was over and we could resume our important task of depleting our beerstock before the weekend was over.
