The ill-fated sim-group introduced on version 2.0 pushed the site into a different direction. I was really enjoying fan-written Star Trek stories at the time and decided to do the same for Starbase 49.
With the help of others a start was made on the very first Starbase 49 story. The site would serve as platform to those stories and the background information.

Version 2.0 of the website was mostly a cosmetic update. The Flash animations were tweaked and expanded.
New features included a discussion forum, a download area with Star Trek related content created by myself, a monthly award for Star Trek sites called 'The Golden Shuttle' and the addition of a Sim-group. This last feature never got anywhere and would be abandoned a few years later.
